What’s up, people? I’m Tyler, a.k.a. TT in this bloggy blog world. You may remember me from the first “Who Wants to be a Blogger” contest on Kentucky Sports Radio. By now you’re probably wondering what this whole “Real Girls Watch Sports” thing is all about. Well, after living 25 years as a female sports fan in a male-sports-fan dominated world, I decided it was time to stand up for my fellow lady sports lovers. We’ve all been there…watching the game with the guys and trying to offer some pretty badass commentary only to a) be ignored; b) smiled at politely; or c) told to go get some more chicken wings from the kitchen. Maybe, if you’re lucky, your guy friends realize that you know sports and they value your insight. But I think I can speak for all of us in saying that while those occasional eyerolls are infuriating, they only serve to inspire, not silence.
It’s not easy being the only girl in the sports bar, or at least the only girl actually watching sports in the sports bar. Think of this as your haven. Let’s analyze, let’s examine, let’s talk–nay, let us trash talk! It’s time to get up off the couch and start talking because we want to hear what you have to say!
Coming with me on this ride is my dear friend, Tara. I’ll let her introduce herself, but let’s just say, this lady has schooled a man or two with her trash talkin’ skills.
